Description:
This cardboard box is covered in dark red textured paper on the sides and has a black top label with a gold border that reads in gold "Clark's Pure Dye/ Silk Twist/ For Hand Or Machine Use/ Patented April 5th 1864./ The adulteration of Sewing Silk in the Process of Coloring/ increases the [illegible] of thread but adds nothing to its strength".
