Circular brass stamp of the "Agencia Comercial del Ymperio Mexicano" in New York, with wooden knob handle.
Gallery Label: 
A note found with this stamp indicates that it came into the possession of the donor's grandfather, the Austrian Consul General of New York, around 1867, when Emperor Maximillian I of the Mexican Empire was shot, and the Mexican consulate in New York was closed.
