Badge on ribbon necklet and star in a case. Gilt metal crown above a white enamel nine-pointed star, with smaller five-pointed stars between the arms. Central round medallion with “AM” monogram, surrounded by blue enamel with a gilt inscription, “PADROEIRA DO REINO”. Blue and white grosgrain ribbon necklet. Star matches the ribbon badge, gilt metal crown includes red enamel details.
The Order of the Immaculate Conception of Vila Viçosa was created by King John VI of Portugal in Rio de Janeiro on 6 February 1818. In December 1983, Duarte Pio, Duke of Braganza, reactivated the Order and maintains it as an honorific order of the Portuguese Royal Family.
