Horizontal rectangular linen sampler with blue silk floss; horizontal rows of alphabets and numbers separated by rows of design, naturalistic images and house across bottom; stitches include cross, satin and eyelet.
Gallery Label: 
Polly Ann Calkins (1812-43) married Stephen Paine in 1828, and was the mother of Stephen Edson Paine. She was the grandmother of the donor.
