Brass struck medal with obverse showing view of island with troops crossing to right; three ships at left and thirteen boats at right; palm branches crossed below; legend: "D'Vlugtende AMERICAANEn van ROHDE YLAND Augt. 1778." Reverse shows naval vessel with sails and flag at left; legend: "DE ADMIRAALS FLAG van ADMIRAAL HOWE 1779." Hole punched at top of the obverse.
