Description:
An early single filament electric light bulb. Reported to be a gift to James Landauer from the grandson of the owner of the first electric company in southern Michigan.

According to the envelope the object was sent in, the light bulb was "acquired by the donor from a grandson of the owner of the first electric company in southern Michigan, which he acquires as a result of his ownership of the local horse-drawn raliroad company which had to forego horses and run by electricity."
