Description:
Green silk purse (miser's bag) with metal beadwork throughout, a slit in the center cinched with two metal rings, one edge is straight and has metal beadwork fringe, the other end is cinched closed and has a metal beadwork tassel.
Gallery Label:
This miser's bag belonged to Catherine Hogeboom Webb (1765-1805), wife of Samuel B. Webb (1753-1807), aide-de-camp to General George Washington in the Revolutionary War.
