Description: 
Green pentagonal pin cushion and sewing book with metal button closure, green silk bag attached to reverse; removing the loop from the button allows a front flap to be lifted, exposing the pentagonal sewing book of wool felt, the reverse sewing bag is opened by pulling back the upper flap and roughly follows the shape of the leather portion.

Sewing books were popular in the Victorian era as a way to keep loose thread, attach loose buttons, and keep sewing needles, among other uses. This sewing kit is unique in its combination of sewing book and pouch.
