A beige pinback button printed with a state seal, crest, symbol or motto from U.S. states and territories; marked "North Dakota", with a scene showing a fruit tree, an anvil, sheaves of grain, a plow, a bow with arrows and a Native American on horseback under a banner surrounded by stars that reads "October 1889/ Liberty And Union Now and Forever. One And Inseparable". Part of a series of pre-World War I United States state buttons; some of the region names are no longer current. The reverse is printed "Sweet Caporal Cigarette", indicating that this button was part of a series of collectible premiums given by tobacco and gum manufacturers.
