A beige pinback button printed with a state seal, crest, symbol or motto from U.S. states and territories; marked "Maryland", with a shield topped by a crown, draped in red and white cloth and flanked by a fisherman and a miner over a banner in Latin "Scuto Bonae Voluntatis Tuae Coronastinos". Part of a series of pre-World War I United States state buttons; some of the region names are no longer current. This button was part of a series of collectible premiums given by tobacco and gum manufacturers.
