Description: 
Two white pinback campaign buttons, one large and one small, both with five central photographs of political candidates, with Thomas E. Dewey "For Governor", at the top, along with J. Raymond McGovern "For Comptroller", Joe Hanley "For U.S. Senator", Nathaniel Goldstein "For Attorney General", and Frank C. Moore "For Lieutenant Governor", encircled by the words in blue "A Great Team/ Vote Republican". This was from the 1942 New York Gubernatorial election in which Dewey was winner. Thomas Edmund Dewey (1902-1971) of Pawling, Dutchess County, N.Y.; U.S. District Attorney for the Southern District of New York, 1933; Governor of New York, 1943-55; defeated, 1938; candidate for President of the United States, 1944, 1948.
