Description: 
Parasol with plain, rounded tortoise shell tip; black lace over beige silk shade with black lining; sliding metal (brass?) collar with engraved design; plain, rounded tortoise shell shaft terminating in spherical knob with applied tortoise shell monogram.

According to the accession records, this parasol belonged to the donor's grandmother, Mrs. Robert Alexander Forsyth of Newburgh-on-the-Hudson.
