Description: 
"Chasseur pattern" dark blue wool felt cap; black patent leather visor which is flat and somewhat rectangular; soft crown with circular, countersunk top; embroidered front insignia with "U.S" between branches of laurel; gold cord chin strap with two slides, secured at either side by a gilded metal button embossed with shield-breasted eagle; black leather sweatband and black textile lining.
