Description: 
Sewing book with cardboard cover decorated on the front with a picture of Jenny Lind as Daughter of Regiment character (this picture is not original to the sewing book), on reverse with blue and white pattern; the inside of the covers are lined with blue lattice print paper and there are two leafs of wool felt.
Gallery Label: 
Johanna Maria (Jenny) Lind (1820-1887) was born in Stockholm and as a child began studying there at the Conservatory of Music. She studied in paris with Manuel Garcia around 1840. Known as the "Swedish Nightingale," she toured Europe in the 1840s and won a popular reputation. She came to the U.S. under the management of P. T. Barnum from 1850-1852, endearing herself to the American public.
