Sarah Cox was the eldest daughter of Jameson Cox (1759-1846) and Sarah (Forrester) Cox (1758-1839) of New York. She married Robert Brown at St. Paul's Chapel on December 24, 1795. This portrait was a gift to the Society from her great-granddaughter.
