Gilt copper medal with obverse showing buildings of Rockefeller Center with legend above: "ROCKEFELLER CENTER N.Y.C." Reverse depicts New York State seal within shield at center with scroll inscribed "EXCELSIOR" beneath, flanked by two female figures and surmounted by eagle; surrounding legend: "THE GREAT SEAL OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK."

This 1934 depiction is an early record of the erection of buildings in Rockefeller Center, which were not finished until 1939. The first buildings to open in the latter year included theaters, office buildings and Radio City Music Hall.
