Description:
White metal struck medal with obverse showing right-facing bust-length profile; legend: "GEORGE WASHINGTON". Reverse shows right-facing equestrian figure between seals of New York City and New York State with laurel wreaths above and below; legend: "CENTENNIAL INAUGURATION/ NEW YORK APRIL 30 1889." Hole pierced at top with wire hanger from burgundy silk ribbon mounted on brass oblong.
