Description:
Silver three tier pin-back uniface medal connected by chains; top tier has engraved eagle; below is engraved "PRESENTED TO" and "DAVID D. WALSH"; below in low relief are men being pulled from sea; engraved below "FOR SAVING FROM DROWNING"; middle tier in high relief shows rowboat with three sitting and one prone figure; bottom tier is life preserver enclosing United States Seal backed by anchor and crossed oars; at top of anchor: "U.S. VOL. L. S. C.."; around lifesaver: "U.S./ VOLUNTEER LIFE SAVING CORPS".
