Description:
Bronze struck medal, with obverse showing uniformed bust of Jesse Elliott facing right with legend: "JESSE D. ELLIOTT.NIL ACTUM REPUTANS SI QUID/SUPERESSET AGENDUM." Reverse shows a naval battle scene with legend: "VIAM INVENIT VIRTUS AUT FACIT" and inscription below exergual line: "INTER CLASS. AMERI./ET BRIT. DIE X SEP./MDCCCXIII."
