Bronze struck medal with obverse showing uniformed bust of Isaac Hull facing left with legend: "PERITOS ARTE SUPERAT JUL.MDCCCXII AUG.CERTAMINE FORTES/ ISAACUS HULL [below bust, at center]." Reverse shows naval battle with legend: "HORAE MOMENTO VICTORIA" and inscription below exergual line: "INTER CONST. NAV. AMER./ET GUER.ANGL."
