Description:
Silver-plated struck metal with obverse showing draped female figure at left with Columbus at right holding tiller on deck of ship, star in sky; legend: "CHICAGO 21. OCTBR. 1892./ GUANAHANI 12. OCTBR. 1492." Reverse shows eagle above, view of exposition buildings below over laurels, legend within plaque at center: "ESPOSIZIONE UNIVERSALE/ CHICAGO 1893/ IN MEMORIA DELL ILLUSTRE/ NAVIGATORE/ CRISTOFORO COLOMBO."
