Description:
Pair of white metal struck medals, one with hole pierced at top, with obverse showing front right-facing bust-length portrait of bare-headed Columbus in ruff and holding chain necklace; legend: "CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS". Reverse shows eye in pyramid above dates in conjoined wreaths: "1492 1892"; within branches legend: "FOUR HUNDREDTH/ ANNIVERSARY/ OF THE/ DISCOVERY OF AMERICA/ CELEBRATED IN THE/ UNITED STATES/ OCT. 21. 1892". Between branches and rim: "FROM DEEPEST BARBARISM TO HIGHEST CIVILIZATION".
