Round bronze medal suspended from blue, white and red striped ribbon and bronze bar. Bar inscribed: "CITIZEN'S COMM." Medal obverse depicts allegorical figure holding sailboat in upraised left hand and steamboat in upraised right hand; silhoutte of New York City in background; circular inscription "HUDSON-FULTON CELEBRATION NY" Medal reverse: relief of two men in right profile circular inscription: "HENRY HUDSON 1609 ROBERT FULTON 1807/1909"
