Gilt copper struck medal with obverse showing shield containing figure of Native American, surrounded by scroll inscribed: "ENSE PETIT PLACIDAM/SVR LIBERTATE OVIETEM" and surmounted by arm holding sword; fish below flanked by dates: "1630" and "1930"; legend above: "TERCENTENARY SOUVENIR." Reverse depicts sailing ship with superimposed medallion containing male bust portrait beneath flanked by dates: "1630" and "1930"; legend above: "MASSACHUSETTS TERCENTENARY."
