White metal struck medal with obverse showing uniformed bust of Lafayette facing right with legend above: "LA FAYETTE"; date below bust, at center: "1781." Reverse depicts a British soldier defeated by Liberty, flanked by scrolls inscribed: "SIC SEMPER/TYRANNIS"; legend above: "VIRGINIA." Hole punched at top center.
