Bronze struck medal with obverse showing modern hotel marquee with 1953 model automobile standing at the entrance, within circular raised panel; rectangular plaque above is inscribed: "75/YEARS"; date "1953" below; surrounding legend within plain border: "CONTRIBUTING to NEW YORK CITY'S GROWTH as TOURIST, CONVENTION and TRADE CENTER." Reverse depicts old-fashioned hotel entrance, with horse-drawn cab halted in front of it; surrounding legend: "75th ANNIVERSARY/1878/HOTEL ASSOCIATION of NEW YORK CITY." Medal is inset into cream-colored square cardboard case.
