Black and white cardboard matchbook designed vertically is printed on the reverse "JAPANESE RESTAURANT / HATSUHANA / New York / Chicago / Los Angeles / Hawaii / Tokyo"; printed on the front is a design of a flower within a flower above two kanji letters that appear to the right of a graphic design of blades of grass; the footer is printed "CLOSE COVER..STRIKE ON BACK" and the manumark is printed "IDEA MAN INC. LA., CA"; the interior of the matchbook is printed "New York / 2 Locations / 17 E. 48th Street / (212) 355-3345 / 237 Park Avenue / Chicago / 160 E.
