Inscription: obverse, at left of field: "P.MANSHIP/1918" Inscription: edge, lower center: "MEDALLIC ART CO. N.Y."
Bronze struck medal with obverse showing group of playing children with figure of Liberty in glory emerging from clouds above, her arms stretched over them in protective gesture; inscription in exergue: ".AMERICA.AIDS.THE./.CHILDREN.OF./.FRANCE." Reverse shows soldiers on battlefield; with legend on scroll beneath: ".THE.FRENCH.HEROES.FUND." Medal is inset into square dark green cloth-covered cardboard fitted case bottom with dark blue silk velvet interior.
