"Flying Cloud", painted wood model of clipper ship with three masts, mounted on rectangular wooden base.
Gallery Label: 
The "Flying Cloud" was one of the most famous clipper ships of the American China trade. Donald McKay built the "Flying Cloud" in 1851 and sold her to Grinnell Minturn and Co. of New York which sold her to James Baines in 1863. The ship was ultimately destroyed by fire in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, in 1874.
