Gallery Label: 
The Flag of Heroes was created to honor the emergency services personnel who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. It is a companion to the Flag of Honor (2003.7), which lists the victims of the attacks. Both flags were created and distributed by Greenwich, Connecticut, resident John Michelotti.
