Description: 
Circular brass die with shield at center with image of rising or setting sun, seated allegorical female figures at either side, an eagle with outstretched wings above, and a banner inscribed with the word "EXCELSIOR" below; in cylindrical wooden box containing two circular impressions on off-white paper.
Gallery Label: 
The seal on the face of this die is supposedly associated with the Stuyvesant family, but it appears to be the seal of New York State.
