Pair of silver dessert forks with downturned fiddle thread handles engraved, "MGH" in script on y and "FHH" in script on z; four curved tines on each; maker's marks stamped on the undersides of the stems.
Gallery Label: 
The initials "MGH" refer to Mary G. Howard, who married William Hughes Gilder in Baltimore in 1856.
