This ceramic cosmetic jar has a purple central drawing of a man looking into a mirror stroking his chin on the lid surrounded by the words "Taylor's Saponaceous Compound/ This Celebrated Shaving Soap has been in use more than Thirty Years, and meets with increasing Favour/ Manufactured by H.P. & C.R. Taylor, Philadelphia/ Business Established in 1820".
