Description:
Wrought silver comb tray; flat, oval dish with a raised and all over repoussé chased scalloped rim with flowers and ferns; applied rope molding around the rim; engraved in the center of the dish, "E E G" in script; makers' marks on the base.
Gallery Label:
EEG is Emma Elizabeth Gilder (b. 1861), the aunt of the donor (Louise S. Gilder). Emma was a sister of Louise's father, William Howard Gilder (b. 1857, Maryland).
