Description: 
Bronze die-struck medal with obverse depicting seated figure of mother with child; legend above: "MOTHERHOOD." Reverse depicts winged putto seated upon clouds, blowing trumpet. Medal is inset into book-style clothbound presentation case with gold embossed logo with portrait of Pisanello at upper right corner and number "4" on upper section of spine; rectangular woodblock-printed bookplate with initials "JMA" inside bookcover.

This medal was issued in May 1911 in an edition of 500. The design of the medal, one of Brenner's favorites, was originally completed in 1899. It was one of his first modeled works while a student of Roty's, and is modeled after a similar work by Roty.
