Federal inlaid bowfront chest of drawers; slightly overhanging top; four graduated drawers with inlaid stringing; shaped skirt; splayed French feet on casters; stamped brass rectangular backplates with oval centers and bail handles.

According to the accession records, this chest of drawers belonged to Samuel McCulloh, maternal great-grandfather of Isabel G. Dod. The inscription "HJ" on the back side of the drawer handles refers to the partnership of brassworker William Jenkins and die caster-engraver Thomas Hands of Birmingham, England. Their partnership is listed in city directories from 1791-1803.
