Bronze struck medal with obverse showing uniformed bust of Charles Stewart facing right with legend: "CAROLUS STEWART NAVIS AMER. CONSTITUTION DUX." Reverse with naval battle scene and legend: "UNA VICTORIAM ERIPUIT RATIBUS BINIS"; inscription in exergue: "INTER CONSTITU. NAV. AMERI./ET LEVANT ET CYANE NAV./ANG. DIE XX FEBR./MDCCCXV."
