Description:
This cardboard box held a removable collar. It is dark blue with black printing on the lid with a "CP" monogram and reads "The Most Economical/ Reversible Stitch/ Collar Ever Invented/ Patented Feb. 7. 1865.". A label on the side reads in red and blue on yellow "Reversible Collar Co. Boston/Lined Button Hole/ Magenta Edge/ Paris Reversible Stitch/ Licensed by the Union Paper Collar Co. N.Y. 16 1/2". The bottom label lists all applicable patent dates from 1854-1866.
