Description:
Corner-cut, rectangular plate with New York State coat of arms (Indian and Dutch colonial figure standing on either side of an eagle perched atop a shield) fastened to center; leather fragments fastened to loops on back.
Gallery Label:
This plate was part of a shoulder belt worn by Luman Reed Allen of the 7th Regiment, New York State Militia, during the Civil War.
