Description:
Iron and leather armor; breastplate with leather strap fastened to hook on each shoulder, waist belt fastened to loops on back, and skirt of tasses hinged to bottom.
Gallery Label:
According to accession records, this armor was probably manufactured by the London Armorers Company, and was of the type worn by English pikemen and soldiers during the mid-seventeenth century. The armor was bought by the donor at Christie's in London on December 8, 1959.
