Description:
Copper struck medal with obverse showing two full-length figures; Vernon at left facing three-quarters to left, baton in his right hand; Brown at right facing left; baton in his left hand; cannon at left of both; legend within line border: "ADMIRAL VERNON AND COMMODORE BROWN"; field chased. Reverse shows group of ships entering harbor; legend around line border: "HE TOOK PORTO BELLO WITH SIX SHIPS ONLY . . "; in exergue: " NOV 2 1739."
