Copper struck medal with obverse showing two half-length figures; Vernon at left, facing three-quarters to the right; Brown at right, facing left; both hold batons; surrounding legend: "ADMIRAL VERNON AND COMMODORE BROWN." Reverse depicts group of ships entering harbor with legend: "TOOK PORTO BELLO WITH SIX SHIPS ONLY"; in exergue: "NOV 22 1739."
